LIFE SHOULD BE SIMPLE, NOT COMPLICATED
Recently, I asked people what they learned about themselves during this pandemic. I received many interesting answers, but there were three that struck me. I will share the first one in this message and the next two in a few days.
Most realized that they are blessed, that they have more than enough and, therefore, can live with much less
Many learned that they do not need the malls to be happy because they have enough to enjoy at home.
People have more time for their families and time to rediscover the joy of cooking, planting, sewing, painting, etc.
With more time at hand, they were also able to learn new skills, discover hidden talents, and became more productive.
There was a lady who bartered her expensive bags for groceries because she realized these have no value during times like this.
How much time did you waste sitting in traffic trying to get to the malls so that you can entertain yourself? Imagine what businesses you could have started, what skills you could have developed, how much money you could have saved if you spent less time on the privileges you thought you needed.
Someone said that this pandemic gave us the opportunity to RESET our priorities and the definition of happiness.
I believe COVID 19 has shown us how badly we have lost our ways. Because throughout the Bible, God keeps on saying that His blessings were meant to bring us joy and give us peace. Pero bakit before the pandemic; we were always worried about the new clothes we have to buy, the gadgets we need to have, the places we have to visit, the restaurants we have to try, etc. Why was life then so complicated then? Yet today we see that it does not have to be so.
We were lied to. We were told that we need to satisfy our inner cravings to find joy and be at peace. So, did you find joy staring at all the clothes you cannot wear, the shoes you can not use, and the gadgets that robbed you of the money you could have used to buy groceries?
Is it possible that God allowed this pandemic to tell us that we have taken the wrong path? Because the life He wants for us is simple and not complicated. So He forced us to stay put to see that true joy and lasting peace are found inside our homes, and in the time we spend with Him alone.
Life is simple! We should not complicate it.
Fruits are not meant to be kept, the plant uses them to bless those around it. Let's be like plants, share this message with those who may be blessed by it, especially your family and friends.
